just thinking...

Some profound stuff to live by

Don't sweat the small stuff; What doesn't matter; just doesn't matter.
To Laugh every day even if it is at yourself.
And to love like there is no tomorrow.

Polkadots, pink umbrellas and playing in the rain

It's been awhile--no mojo, no energy, on survival mode completely--it's a @#%#$ place to be but I'm trying to get out of it--seriously trying hard
For my sanity and GC's today we spent a little while outside after lunch :)Yes I know it's rainy, windy and cold but it was worth it..
GenevaClaire humored me while I took some photos :)What could make a rainy & windy day any brighter than polka dots and pink umbrellas?
These photos were a little too soft focused--was using a zoom lens and the SOCC quality is a little fuzzy--need's some help with photoshop

Little to early...

I'm thinking this little guy is wishing that he hadn't flown South quite so soon...

He hung out in the dogwood tree for hours yesterday, poor frosty feathers...

hello again :)

well it's been awhile--last update GC was feeling better from the pneumonia--little did I know that we encountered a lovely germ at the ped's office--Norovirus, aka NASTY NASTY stomach flu. So it took over GC last Saturday night and Sunday--Ben was getting some sort of cold. I prayed. Well Monday arrived, I felt fine, got up, got busy, kitchen cleaned, house stuff--the usual. About 1 o'clock in the afternoon the stomach flu hit me, actually it completely took me down--for 16 hours straight I was in the bathroom--seriously. Got some phenagran (actually it took 3 doses before I kept enough of it down to actually work it's magic), thank God, slept and waited for the next round. This time 2:30am--sick all night, all the next day--unbelievable stuff. Oh and Ben got Sick with the stomach flu, on top of the cold he already had. So here the two of us try to survive and take care of GC--actually all I could do was either lay in the bed or in the bathroom floor. Finally on Friday, I was emerging from the depths of stomach flu hell--still struggling with the weakness and dehydration, my voice is gone, my ribs feel like they've been punched by a prize fighter--but it's so much better than last week, so I'll take it.

Oh and I got a kicker to the gut today--I'm always amazed by the behavior of grown women but today I think I heard it all, seriously, I've heard it all. Since when can grown women not be friends with others, just because they don't like one of their other friends? Is this really for REAL??? Do you remember the high school crap--Oh if you're going to be friends with her then I'm mad at you and can't be friends with you?????? WTH? Since when can adults not be friends, regardless of who their friends are? I understand if you're forced to spend hours on the weekend hanging out with them but I'm not talking about that. I guess it's just a way of life now--the cyber world brings a whole new level to friendships--or pseudo friendships in this case? I don't know, I didn't even get the courtesy of hearing it from the person--so it's just a shocker to me... It's a sad crazy world, that's all I'm saying.

Thank Goodness..

GenevaClaire is starting to feel better, she hasn't had a fever in over 24 hours.Although last night she said she was getting hot again, but I gave her some tylenol and it obviously kept it at bay. She's headed back to the doc either today or Friday--we are on stand by for an appt today, but if not then they will see her tomorrow and send her for a chest xray to check the fluid levels in her lungs. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. I took this pic while she was in the hospital

I wanted to share this pic that GC "found" on the 11th--we had stepped out on the front porch and she looked up and said "Mommy, look! Jay-Jay made a church cross in the sky" The Jay Jay reference is from a PBS kids show about a cartoon airplane, so now all airplanes are Jay Jay the jet plane :)

Horrible update to Valentines day

Just a quick note--our Valentines Day went terribly wrong last afternoon, GenevaClaire woke up unable to breathe, coughting uncontrollably, high fever, etc. Her pulmonary specialist was on vacation so we had to go directly to the ER--after many, many, many hours and a really really upset outburst on my part, they diagnosed her with Mycoplasma Pneumonia and croup. Her fever reached 104.9 in the ER before they did the chest xray--she was admitted into the pediatrics unit--they are treating her now with steroids, antibiotics--please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She is a very sick little girl right now.
